Ummagma, upbeat and positive

Ummagma (derived from Pink Floyd's fourth studio album Ummagumma) is a veteran Canadian-Ukrainian duo formed in Moscow in 2003. Their music includes elements of dreampop, shoegaze and electronic combined with resonance effects and all kinds of rhythms. Delicate voices, mainly feminine, are superimposed on all this, resulting in rich soundscapes that transmit positive energy.

Ummagma is made up of Shauna McLarnon, vocalist who writes the lyrics, and Alexander Kretov, who composes the music and plays all the instruments. In addition to editing a good record list, they have collaborated with high level musicians such as Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins), Malcolm Holmes (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark) or Beauty in Chaos, a collaborative project based in Los Angeles.
