The kinkidelia is born with Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba
It was a well-known secret in the city. Something was simmering in Seville. A metropolis which can’t stop astonishing lately with new music talents, some of which are incredibly skilled in the difficult art of mixing genres. Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba, the name of a band fresh out of this tireless talent pool, also moves with ease in a complicated and incredible equilibrium: their compositions are as much of successors of the most legendary Andalusian rock —from Triana to Veneno, to Azahar and Mezquita— as they are worthy contemporaries of the psychedelic sound of Fuzz, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Pond.
Behind the more than curious names of Dandy Piranha (voice), Bacca (guitar), Soni (bass guitar), Máscara (synthesizer and keyboards) and El Papi aka "Pachuli" (drums) hide members of southern bands so celebrated lately such as The Milkyway Express, Quentin Gas & Los Zíngaros, Furia Trinidad or JambalayaBand, among others. They stroll like "stray dogs" along the Polígono de San Pablo but they wouldn't be out of place in AC/DC Lane, the most rock lane of Melbourne. Their image and their music pass through that fine line which separates José Antonio de la Loma's filmography from Kenneth Anger's trip movies. With them kinkidelia has been born.
They also announced the first dates of their album's live performances: Friday the 15th of February in Sala X in Sevilla, Saturday the 18th of May in the Sueños de Libertad festival in Ibiza, and Friday the 31st of May in the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona.
The concert in Sala X in Sevilla, the band's reunion with the city's public after last November's pleasant experience, will also serve as the starting signal of the first news about Monkey Weekend. Two passes for the festival will be raffled among the attendees.
